1,600 members from all over York Province descended on Holy Island in coaches and cars. 2 coaches went from Sheffield Diocese plus members in cars making a total of 96 from our Diocese.
The Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Martin of Newcastle and two clergy from each Diocese assisted, our two were Rev Canon John Willett from St. Wilfrid’s Cantley and Rev Hamish Ferguson-Stuart Assistant Chaplain of Rotherham District Hospital. We were led in song by an MU choir and would have raised the roof if the Priory had one!
The day was organised by our Provincial President Lynne Tembey and everyone's thanks go to her for all her hard work in making the day so very special and a wonderful experience.
We all had a picnic lunch on the beach followed by the Eucharist in the Priory.
